1992 JDM RHD Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo For Sale Year: 1992 Model: Z16A Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo VIN: Z16A0014482 Color: Red Engine: 6G72TT Mileage: 89,353 Miles (143,800kms) Transmission: 5-Speed AWD Description: Up for sale in my 1992 JDM RHD Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo with 89,353 miles (143,800kms). I purchased this in Japan and imported it into the US under the 25-year DOT exemption rule into Baltimore. The car is currently registered and insured in the state of Maryland with title in hand and ready to be transferred and driven. The car is in fantastic condition and runs great. The engine has no mechanical issues to speak of and the 5-speed transmission shifts smoothly. The AC system still operates and blows cold as well. The Japanese aftermarket mini-disc/CD radio is still installed. The vehicle is mostly stock with just the addition of an M’s intake and a Super Megaphone cat-back exhaust system. The exterior also sports a very rare Aerocraft Kaze front bumper. The tires are in near-new condition with the stock wheels. The underchassis is free of rust (see pictures below) and the paint is in excellent condition. Please look through the photos and let me know if you have any questions! Paperwork & Registration: The vehicle was legally imported under the 25-year DOT exemption rule and EPA 21-year exemption with all importation documents available with the purchase of the vehicle including the EPA 3520-1, DOT HS-7, Bill of Lading, and the Customs 7501 Entry Summary form. The GTO is registered and insured in Maryland with Maryland title in hand ready to go for an easy transfer to the new owner. There are a couple scrapes on the driver-side front bumper and side skirt (pictured below). The driver-side seat shows increased wear compared to the passenger side and there are a handful of small stains in the carpet (pictured below). Additionally, the tachometer is reading 50% of the accurate RPMs. The rest of the gauge cluster works as designed and it appears to have no effect on the driveability of the car but I haven’t addressed the issue as of yet. The active aero is of course no longer functioning as the front bumper has been replaced with the Kaze bumper. Please inspect the pictures thoroughly so you are fully aware of any visual blemishes. Car has less than115,000 miles on it (less than 7K a year), and has only been a second car forme the last few years so barely 200 miles on it a year. Although no mechanical issues, its probably more of a fixer-upper and probably not ready for every day use yet, which is why the price is a lot lower then KBB. Other Items There is some wear and tear on the exterior, with some paint chips on the front bumper, but I keep a car bra on it anyways. If you are a fan of this car, then you have likely seen the video review on YouTube by Doug DeMuro. Yes, this *is* that same car. I realized I have enjoyed it long enough and I am ready for a change in my garage. According to feedback I received this is the first public sale of a 1999 3000GT VR-4 in more than two years, there are less than 250 of these examples remaining and even less in the Caracas Red / Tan combo (best combo in my opinion). This is quite possibly the last clean stock 1999 VR-4 in Caracas Red with the Tan interior (the best combo) left, certainly the only one for sale. While the air intake cone is an upgrade, I have the original OEM setup and it can be put back on making it totally and completely 100% stock. If you know this car, there is little else to be said... Twin Inter-cooled Twin Turbo V6 - 320HP StockAWD4 Wheel Steering6 speed manual One thing unique to this car (and many have verified this), this car has the COLDEST A/C I have ever seen. Even better than my VW Phaeton, it's ridiculously cold. Condition: there are a few minor paint chips on the hood (normal for age), but as you can see they are not noticeable. The body and frame are clean, car is never driven in rain (Definitely not snow, only driven from May - Oct to avoid any potential salt), just passed PA inspection without issue.
